Sukoon ("Sukoon", "the app", "we", "our") is an app blocker and focus tool built to work primarily on your device. This policy explains what information the app handles, what we can and cannot see, and the choices you have. If you have questions after reading this, contact us at the email address at the bottom of this page.
The following is created by you and stored locally in the app's on-device database. It is never transmitted to us or any third party:
This data is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage from Android system settings.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how people use Sukoon — for example, how many people complete onboarding, how many grant or skip a given permission, how many create a schedule, or how many hit a free-tier limit. These events record the type of action and its outcome only — for example "schedule created" or "permission granted: location" — and never the content behind it. We do not send schedule names, zone names, locations, motivation text, or any other personal content to Firebase.
We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically capture crash and app-not-responding (ANR) reports, which may include a stack trace, device model, OS version, and app version. This is standard technical diagnostic data used only to find and fix bugs.
Every permission below is optional except Usage Access and Display over other apps, which the app cannot function without. You can grant, skip, or later revoke any of these in Android's system settings.
| Permission | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Usage Access | Detects which app is currently open, so Sukoon knows when to block it. Required. |
| Display over other apps | Shows the block screen on top of a blocked app. Required. |
| Notifications | Shows the persistent "engine is active" notification and reminders. |
| Alarms & reminders (exact alarms) | Starts and stops schedules/prayer windows exactly on time. |
| Location (foreground) | Calculates today's prayer times and detects when you enter a Silent Zone. |
| Location (background) | Lets Silent Zones detect entry/exit even when Sukoon isn't open. |
| Do Not Disturb access | Lets a Silent Zone silence calls and notifications while you're inside it. |
| Physical activity | Powers the optional "Walk" Strict Mode unlock challenge, which requires movement before letting you exit early. |
| Ignore battery optimizations | Prevents Android from killing the blocking engine in the background. |
| Device Admin (optional, in Settings) | If you turn on Uninstall Protection, this prevents one-tap uninstalling of Sukoon. |
None of the raw data these permissions expose (your precise location, which apps you use and when, your physical activity) is transmitted off your device. Only the anonymous, content-free analytics events described in section 2.2 are sent.
Sukoon relies on a small number of third-party services to function:
On-device data (schedules, zones, prayer settings, motivation text, usage stats) is retained only on your device and is permanently deleted the moment you uninstall Sukoon or clear its app storage. Anonymous analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to Google's standard retention periods and cannot be tied back to an individual person, since we never send identifying information in the first place.
Sukoon is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will address it.
On-device data is stored in the app's private local storage, sandboxed by Android from other apps. We use Google's standard security practices for the third-party services described above.
We may update this policy as the app changes. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Sukoon after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
